Guillermo Serrano

25 years experience in financial markets both in Europe and in the Americas. A graduate of the London School of Economics, his early years in the Spanish equities market with Hoare Govett and Goldman Sachs served as springboard to a number of Emerging Markets roles. He joined Barings in Latin America in 1994 to becoming Head of Infrastructure Research with Santander, Head of Latin American research with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Head of Latin America Institutional Equity Sales with BBVA.

 

Since 2005, Guillermo has developed an expertise in emerging technologies in the London market and has been instrumental in the success of numerous transactions such as Ceramic Fuel Cells, TMO Renewables, MDx Health, Ilika, ITM Power, Biotie, Vernalis, Futura Medical, Carmat, Silence Therapeutics, Sygnis/X-Pol and InterCell.

Stephen Edkins

20 years experience in equity investment research and primary investing. A Philosophy, Politics and Economics graduate from Oxford University, Stephen started his professional career as a Latin America equity analyst at Santander Investment specialized in the banking sector covering both the capital markets and M&A mandates. His most prominent work was related to the acquisition of Banespa (Brazil) and Serfin (Mexico) and helped uncover securities irregularities at Savia.

 

His emerging markets work continued in Asia with a particular focus in China. A founding partner of Diverso, an investment banking operation dedicated to renewable energy technology that was behind the IPO of ReneSola in the London market in 2006. That year ReneSola was named the IPO of the year. Over 7 years Diverso returned over $80 million to LPs on an initial investment of $5 million. Subsequently, Stephen has continued to focus on a range of emerging technology investing in companies such as Ilika, Rebio, Oratto, Zaption, Studytube and Leadferret.

Adolfo Böhmer

Over 25 years capital markets management experience. He has restructured and developed businesses in equities, fixed income and foreign exchange managing proprietary trading, sales trading and sales positions. He has held positions with Baring Securities, Santander Investment and UBS in New York, Bogotá and Panamá.

 

Adolfo has a unique understanding of cross-border investment flows in Latin America and has advise a number of Family offices on portfolio allocation and individual company transactions.

Joaquín Navarro

A professional with a 25 year background in structuring Infrastructure and Energy projects in over than 70 countries in Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining the firm was for more than 12 years Senior Director of Business Development and Sales in different global engineering and EPC companies with an overall figure of over USD 1 billion deals completed for public and private clients. Previously, joined Citibank Spain as financial analyst before becoming Director of Oil & Gas Division in Expansion Exterior, a Spanish consultancy firm specialized in structured finance for turnkey projects in emerging markets.

 

Joaquin earned a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from ICADE Business School and also a MSc in Energy Sciences. Currently, he is also associated professor in a postgraduate program in ICADE Business School, Madrid.
